Our Brief History

Education Gauge for Growth Tanzania (EGG – Tanzania) was established in 2010 as an independent voluntary non for profit organization  that works on education consulting and interventions. Education Gauge for Growth – Tanzania (EGG) was established in 2010 as an independent voluntary non for profit organization (NGO) with the focus of education consulting and interventions.  It gained its registration under Business Names Registration Act, CAP 213 on 2nd February, 2012 with registration no. 234112. On 24th June 2013 it gained a certificate of incorporation under the Companies Act 2002 section 15 as a Company limited by guarantee without share capital with the registration number 100361.

In 2019 following the amendments of Tanzania Non-Governmental Organizations – (NGO) registration procedures, on 29th August 2019 EGG – Tanzania changed from a Company to a fully registered NGO incorporated under CAP 212 and was given a registration certificate with registration no. 00NGO/R2/000557.

Education Gauge for Growth Tanzania envisions to become a leading holistic center of education excellence in Tanzania by the year 2030.

MISSION

Our mission is to promote the strengthening of Tanzania’s education system through modeling a holistic education centre of excellence, enhancing education support and assistance, consultancy and social franchise as well as establishing a stable and sustainable internal capacity.

assessment

  • There was a need for an alternative professional independent education assessment entity particularly in assessing best education sector practices  in areas of strategic and evidence-based  plans, job designs and allocation of quality materials, operation systems and structures, optimum financial and quality  human resources in government, private and third sectors.

intervention

There was a need and demand for an organization to intervene in capacity building of formal and nonformal education institution and individuals in primary, secondary, teacher training and adult education institutions in the government, private and third sector particularly in areas of coaching, mentoring, training, maintenance, and modeling

accreditation

There was a need and demand for an independent accreditation entity for awarding institutions and or individuals in primary, secondary, teacher training, and adult education in government, private and third sector qualifying for standardized criterion assessed through G, P, and T scores respectively.

policy influence

  • There was a need and demand for the organization to influence a holistic view and approach of formal basic, secondary, teacher training and adult education systems in the country by influencing humanitarian services, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, citizenry, popular participation and community engagement.
