Changing on varieties of foods for breaking the fast and night time meal during the holy month of Ramadhan for boarding secondary school students is among other issues that need intervention from other people outside the school due to various reasons.

In realizing that Food Packages Project designed by Education Gauge for Growth Tanzania – EGG Tanzania with support of Turkey people through iHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, April 2022 distributed four hundred and fifty nine food packages.

Among the students benefited were from Morogoro secondary school, Nelson Mandela secondary school and Kilakala secondary school. Also At-taun Muslim secondary school, Mzumbe high secondary school and Al amood orphanage centre at Kichangani area.

This year food packages contained rice, wheat flour, beans, sugar and cooking oil

The World AIDS Day 2021 in Morogoro region was officiated by the Morogoro Regional Commissioner, Hon. Martine Shigella accompanied by Regional Administrative secretary Hon Mariam Mtunguja and the Morogoro District Commissioner, Hon, Albert Msando, as well as the Morogoro Municipal Mayor Pascal Kihanga. and Morogoro Regional Doctor Kusirye Ukio .

The event was conducted at Mazimbu Ward office grounds within Morogoro municipality. The 2021’s theme was “Stop Inequalities, Stop AIDS”.

EGG Tanzania together with other non-governmental organizations, local governments from Mazimbu Ward were among key stakeholders and participants of the event. During the event, the Morogoro Regional Commissioner Hon. Martin Shigela handed over a certificate of appreciation to the Managing Director Mr. Jumanne Mpinga for supporting the event and participation.

Tushikamane Secondary school

In combating COVID 19 effect to students, Education Gauge for Growth Tanzania donated hand washing soap and water buckets to Tushikamane secondary school in Morogoro municipality to facilitate school community washing and sanitize their hands.

Items donated included ten (10) five litter gallons of hand washing liquid soap and two buckets with capacity of carrying one hundred and sixty litters of water where each installed with two water taps. 

Receiving the items, teachers and students appraises EGG Tanzania for their continuous support. On her thank giving note, the headmistress Ms Mwazani H. Jambalaga said they still remember and appreciate the borehole water well support granted earlier which helps a lot on students and school community hygiene and daily water needs.

Qurban food package distribution

Various people of Kondoa municipal and its neighboring village of Unkuku in Dodoma regions were the benefiters’ of August 2020 Humanitarian Aid project carried out by Education Gauge for Growth Tanzania (EGG – Tanzania) with support from iHH – Humanitarian Relief Foundation of Turkey.

The meat supplied to 2,500 families. The meat came from cows and goats slaughtered at Kondoa municipal abattoir.   Most beneficiaries were old people, orphans, students and villagers who came from academic Institution, schools, orphanage center, religious centers, widows’ center, disabled people and vulnerable people.

The activity is among the mission of EGG Tanzania in promoting and strengthening the education system by supporting and assisting families and students on their social welfare as the process of creating peace and harmony in our Tanzanian society.

These water wells will be installed with 20,000 liters water tanks to be set on 7.5 meters concrete towers. Also water pipes will be placed around villages and each village will be having not less than ten distribution points.

Target areas on distribution point will be schools both primary and secondary, dispensaries, religious institutions, village administration offices and common public places for security and easy management of the project. It is expected to be completed in August, 2020 for official opening and handing over to village cum district administrations.

This is a part of Humanitarian Aids assistance to the school children and needy community activities sponsored by IHH. More than two hundred families received the packages.

During the presentation donors from Kuwait together with IHH senior officer were there to observe the handing over of the bicycles to deserve students. Thirty two – 32 female students and 28 boys were given these bicycles. Those given both were from primary to secondary levels.

Bicycle Project aimed to facilitate students living far from schools and families cannot able to support their means of transport to school.  This is the first time for this project to be done in Islands of Zanzibar. Already students in Mbelekese village, Singida region received bicycles under this project in 2019.

The water well projects carried by EGG – Tanzania at various places aimed at reducing the suffering from acute shortage of water to students and community members nearby the concerned areas. Creating community access to clean water reserve and improve students’ academic performance by enhancing students at those areas walking to more than one kilometer to find water easily. Sometimes they missed the class session when they are on the exercise.

These projects have brought a big impact to schools, health centers, and communities around where water – well constructed. In some other places a water distributions center established with more than five other points scattered around the village.  The projects are a huge blessing, so they don’t believe that they could collect water within school surroundings.
